Design Milk Friday Five

Do you know Design Milk?  I recently discovered this fabulous blog that has all kinds of interesting articles on subjects ranging from architecture to fine art to interior design to fashion.  These days, when I have five free minutes (when is that, exactly?) I love to pop over and catch up on what is happening in the world of design.  Marni Elyse Katz curates a very cool feature each Friday she calls Friday Five in which she asks designers of all ilks to share their top five favorite inspirations.  I am thrilled to share mine with you today.  Enjoy! Her five picks lend a bit of insight to this groovy girl with great taste; they’re both classic and eclectic, just like her designs. Read the rest of this post »

1st Dibs

I have been keeping my eyes peeled in an ongoing search for outlets with interesting content and inspiring photography, and this morning I found one right under my nose. As I was searching 1st Dibs for furniture ideas for a client, I hit the wrong button and ended up on their homepage. Let me tell you, people, a treasure trove awaits you!

Their online Introspective Magazine is full of beautiful photographs and is very easy to navigate. There are tons of great articles (both current and past) in the Style Compass section, which reads like a who’s who of the most interesting and influential designers working today. The current article is on Nicholas Manville, the “style czar” of Bergdorf Goodman’s magical 7th floor. How chic!
