This weekend, I took my nephew to see the new (well, relatively new) Dinosaur Wing at the Natural History Museum here in Los Angeles. We had timed tickets for the exhibition so we wandered into the Gems and Minerals Hall and all I can say is WOW! I immediately forgot all about the dinosaurs and became a wide-eyed kid in a candy shop. My nephew wasn’t as bowled over as I was so I didn’t get nearly enough time there but it did fan the flames of my deep and abiding love of minerals. A while back, I asked you all what you were looking at now that so many shelter mags have gone under. I have been keeping my eyes peeled in an ongoing search for outlets with interesting content and inspiring photography, and this morning I found one right under my nose. As I was searching 1st Dibs for furniture ideas for a client, I hit the wrong button and ended up on their homepage. Let me tell you, people, a treasure trove awaits you!
Their online Introspective Magazine is full of beautiful photographs and is very easy to navigate. There are tons of great articles (both current and past) in the Style Compass section, which reads like a who’s who of the most interesting and influential designers working today.
