Hey peeps. I am hustling to finish up and get on the road for a beautiful Memorial Day weekend in Santa Barbara en famille. Didn’t want to leave you high and dry, though, so I thought I’d share a fantastic little moment I happened upon in the grungy warehouse section just south of downtown LA.
Amidst all of the dirt, garbage and grey concrete, some artistic soul thought it was a good idea to slap a coat of cheery green paint on this fire hydrant and crown it with a bundle of fake pink roses (pretty good fakes, actually). When I stumble across this kind of random creativity, it always puts a smile on my face. I hope it does the same for you. Have a great weekend and enjoy!The Streets of London – Part 2
As I was walking around Chelsea, I happened to glance down and noticed the fabulous design on the manhole cover I was stepping on.
I took a picture to remind myself of the pattern (how great repeated on a fabric?) and the next thing I knew, I was snapping away. There is an incredible array of design on the covers throughout the area so I thought it only right that I share. Enjoy and remember that art and design are everywhere. Enjoy!

Taking It To The Streets
Sorry for the delayed post today. A bit too much holiday cheer over the weekend has got me moving more slowly than usual. When I wasn’t reveling, I was out and about doing holiday shopping and running errands and couldn’t help but notice some amazing street art cropping up around West Hollywood. Well, I guess street art isn’t a fair characterization in all cases. The first “installation” I saw was on the corner of Orlando and 3rd. It appears that the owner of this commercial building decided to take a page from my beloved Sol LeWitt when s/he painting their ground floor like this:
