David Wiseman
Earlier this week, my lovely friend, Rodman, invited me to be part of a small group of people to preview David Wiseman’s extraordinary new sculpture at the fabulous West Hollywood Library. If you are not familiar with Mr. Wiseman’s work, you are in for a treat. His gorgeous, organic sculptures grow out of walls and ceilings and stretch towards windows, as if they are seeking the light. For this installation, he chose to sculpt sycamore trees crawling up the central staircase as a way to connect the interior space to the natural space around the library (which is soon to become an amazing 5 acre park).
