Last night, a friend asked, with some despair (and more than a little demand) in her voice, “Are you giving up on your blog? When are we going to get some new posts?” Dear readers, my apologies for leaving you in the lurch! I have been busy, rather busy, with client work and it has left me with precious little time to refelect and share design tidbits. I want to be able to do it all, I really do. And I am going to do my damnedest to deliver!
To wit, today I want to turn you on to a very cool event happening in LA this weekend called Unique LA. Sonja Rasula (a woman who really can do it all) started this annual independent design and gift show in 2008 and has grown it into the largest show of its kind in the country. The event showcases local vendors (90% are California based) with the crafty talents of folks from Brooklyn to Portland thrown in for good measure. Think one big giant Etsy sale, in person. Top it off with DIY workshops (for those of you who want to get your crafty on) and a selection of LA’s best food trucks. Yeah, baby!
