Since you lovely Mollyloot readers were so helpful last time I found myself with a botanical question, I thought I’d try a new one on you. I came across this seemingly non-descript bush yesterday on the front lawn of a client’s house:
Upon closer inspection, I discovered gobs of these gorgeous, deep magenta, trumpet-shaped flowers: They feel so tropical and jungle-y and exotic to this preppy girl from Baltimore. What are they??? Does anybody know? All thoughts are appreciated. Have a fantastic weekend!Nature’s Majesty

For me, one of the best parts of Westweek was checking out the different showrooms and seeing how they chose to style their various spaces with plants and flowers. Everyone went all out but I was particularly intrigued by the presentation at Kneedler-Fauchere. The showroom is full of elegant, European-inspired furniture in sumptuous finishes with not a lot of color. My instinct would be to punch it up with bright flowers but the clever folks over there decided to keep it neutral and sculptural, employing mostly succulents and orchids from the excellent Tom Henry of Orchids de Oro:

Spring has sprung here in SoCal and fresh flowers are exploding everywhere! I am planning a trip to immerse myself in the gorgeous array of local flower fields in bloom a few weekends from now but until then, check out these amazing tulip fields ablaze in Holland. Those are all flowers, people!
