Dressing Your Christmas Tree

The Christmas season comes sooner and sooner these days. I start hearing Christmas carols around Halloween and the amped up ads for sales of electronics and toys and cars and everything else starts soon thereafter. Now I’m no Scrooge but this seems ridiculous to me. So much so that I have turned a blind eye to all of it until I realized it is December 6th and I have not even set up my Christmas tree. Oops! I am playing catch up and thought I’d share some tree trimming treats I have discovered this year.

First of all, I am a firm believer in a good fake tree. I know the real ones smell great and are farmed for just this reason so I’m not going to get mad at you if you get one (just please dispose of it properly – there is nothing more depressing than seeing dried up old trees on the sidewalk deep into January…). However, if you are ready to make the move to fake, may I recommend you go with one like this one from Christmas Lights Etc?

Heart Attack

OK. Get ready. I am channeling my inner 13 year old and confessing to my refreshed love of hearts. To be sure, they can be cloying and hokey but done well, they have a wonderful, uplifting quality that I think we can all sorely use these days. What caused this renewed passion, you ask?
