The other day, I got a very kind comment from a Mollyloot reader named Rebecca Todd. Here’s a snippet:

I have to send you a picture of the window displays I bought out of the Anthropologie store windows — huge frames with wood scraps arranged in beautiful mosaics — I would never have had the courage to do without the ideas I’ve gathered here! Thanks!

Believe it or not, I am not sharing this to toot my own horn. I bring it up because it got me thinking about how creative and inspiring the folks at Anthropologie can be. I have long kept a file of images I have pulled from their catalogs because they stopped me in my tracks. It’s not the merchandise that is the mind blowing part (although I am a fan of their offerings) but the set design. Please check out this spread showcasing their jewelry. Take a close look. Everything but the jewelry is made of paper. I want that hummingbird!

Anthropologie!

Over this holiday weekend, my sisters and I hit the stores to get our Christmas shopping underway. One of our favorite stops has always been Anthropologie for its eclectic, pretty clothes. This time however the consensus was too many ruffles and artistic, difficult to wear shapes. I already veer towards what they love to call “the art teacher look” or even worse “Mrs. Roper chic” so I had to steer clear.

That said, Anthropologie is knocking it out of the park with their home collection. I have long been a fan of their textiles (they always have excellent curtains, rugs and pillows) but they have really kicked it up a notch with the furnishings and accessories.
