As we were dismantling our La Cienega window recently, I popped over to Downtown for one last look at the incredible Pedro Friedeberg sculpture the talented and hilarious Kim Alexandriuk used in her Diego Rivera-inspired window.It got me thinking how much I love a funky surrealist and few are funkier than Mr. Friedeberg. A while back, I asked you all what you were looking at now that so many shelter mags have gone under. I have been keeping my eyes peeled in an ongoing search for outlets with interesting content and inspiring photography, and this morning I found one right under my nose. As I was searching 1st Dibs for furniture ideas for a client, I hit the wrong button and ended up on their homepage. Let me tell you, people, a treasure trove awaits you!
Their online Introspective Magazine is full of beautiful photographs and is very easy to navigate. There are tons of great articles (both current and past) in the Style Compass section, which reads like a who’s who of the most interesting and influential designers working today.
